What types of positions do family nurse practitioners have?
Generally, family nurse practitioners work in primary care settings such as outpatient clinics or ambulatory care centers in the community. An increasing number of family nurse practitioners are practicing in a medical specialty such as endocrinology or dermatology. Some family nurse practitioners are employed in acute care settings but they must practice within the family nurse practitioner scope of practice.
