Keep in mind, we do more than photos. We also restore documents and genealogical papers. As stated before, we have 2 flat bed scanners and 1 negative/slide scanner. This, in essence, allows us the ability to scan photos up to 18×24 in size. Both glossy and matte photos can be scanned. With the flatbed scanners we can scan both the “modern” flat paper photos and also the earlier “cardboard thick” (cabinet) photos. Both black and white and color may be scanned. With our slide/negative scanner, we can scan 35mm slides and negativesboth color and black and white. We do not cut the negative strips, as our holders will accommodate up to a 6 frame negative strip. As for the slides, we leave them mounted in their sleeves (plastic or cardboard). The only time we have had to remove anything was when they had a metal bracket around them. After we scanned these, we replaced the bracket.
