What types of organizations and activities do not qualify for SSL?
For-profit organizations in general do not qualify as SSL sites. Exceptions are made for assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. Exceptions may be considered with special activity applications where proceeds from for-profit activities go to charitable organizations. Examples of activities that are not approved for SSL include: door-to-door distribution of information, service supervised by parent or close relative, service without sponsorship of a nonprofit organization, service performed in the student’s home, or the home of an organization’s sponsor, service resulting in financial or other compensation, service with for profit organizations.
