What types of licenses do Ixia applications use?
Ixia has three different types of licenses: Temporary License: This license is triggered by the application when it either cannot find an existing license, or when it cannot validate licensing due to connectivity issues. A 2 day temporary license is issued when the licensing process between the client and chassis cannot be completed, or a 30 day temporary license will be issued when connectivity is fine, but a license does not exist. Temporary licenses require minimal information to be submitted. Submitting the required information for a temporary license is not the same as requesting a permanent license. Since these licenses are triggered by the application, no registration number or password is required. Evaluation License: This licensed is issued by Ixia for a limited time period and requires a registration number and password.
