They fall in the 3 general categories of Environmental, Industrial Hygiene and Industrial Safety. Environmental includes pollution control, prevention and remediation. Industrial Hygiene includes defining and eliminating avenues of exposure to toxic and carcinogenic components in the workplace. Industrial Safety includes defining and eliminating hazards in the job place and responding to emergency situation. A common component in all three areas is developing and complying with regulations.
