What types of ICP board are available?
All current ICP boards are PCIbus-based, and there are models with 2, 4 or 8 communications ports; these 3 models are called the ICP2432B-2, ICP2432B-4 and the ICP2432B-8. The 2- and 4-port models allow each port’s electrical interface (EIA-232, EIA-449, EIA-530, V.35, etc.) to be selected under software control; the 8-port model is EIA-232 only. Additional information about ICP2432B boards is available in the ICP2432 for PCIbus section of Protogate’s website. Previous models of ICP boards connected to a VMEbus (the ICP6000) or to a PCIbus, but with a different CPU and serial controller (the ICP2432A). Due to the unavailability of some of the Integrated Circuits used on these ICP boards, these models are no longer in production, but Protogate can still repair them.
