WHAT TYPES OF FISH ARE HEALTHIEST TO EAT?
Fatty fish like salmon are usually the healthiest to eat. It’s also good to steer clear of fish caught near industrial areas and look for fish that are low in mercury. IS THERE ANYONE WHO SHOULDN’T EAT FISH? Pregnant women and children younger than 6 years old should avoid eating mercury-rich fish because it can be detrimental to a young child’s nervous system. Any woman who is interested in becoming pregnant in the next year should also lower her fish consumption, as it can take up to a year for harmful mercury deposits to exit the body. Finally, anyone with chronic angina or low bloodflow to the heart should avoid fish altogether or consult a physician.
