STEL (Short Term Educational Leave) funding is a negotiated item and is allocated each year based upon the number of members who apply and the frequency of having received STEL funding. The maximum allocated is $500. Application forms go out to all members each spring. The MDF (Member Development Fund) can be accessed by an ETFO-WRTL member once per budget year (July 1 to June 30). It is up to $125 for expenses or one half-day of occassional teacher coverage. Both funds may only be used for conferences, seminars, workshops, or other educational activities, with the exception of AQ courses. Contact Sharon Harris at the ETFO-WRTL office for details and related forms. You must apply for and be approved for funding prior to attending the activity you wish to use the funding for.
