What types of families choose home education?
In Nova Scotia there is diversity within the home education community. There are families choosing to home educate for religious reasons, others who are secular. Families represent a full range of socio-economic backgrounds. We even have families with parents who work as public school teachers as well as college and university professors. It is important to embrace and encourage diversity within the home education community so we are not seen by the public as a crazy minority or simply eclectic. At the same time we must find strength and commonality in our belief that ties us together that choosing home education for our children is our legal right and it is the choice that we feel is best for our families. top…
