What types of educational programs are available for children with Down syndrome?

0

Lifelong learning is as important for individuals with Down syndrome as it is for anybody else. Fortunately, many wonderful learning and development opportunities exist specifically for individuals with Down syndrome, beginning with early intervention services. Federal law dictates that every state must offer no-cost early intervention services, which are designed to help address developmental delays in young children. In Ohio, early intervention services are available through the state’s Help Me Grow program, and through your county board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MRDD). All states must also offer free public education for school-age children with Down syndrome.
