What types of dance courses are available at Cornell?
Most of the technique courses offered by the Dance Program in the Department of Theatre, Film & Dance are in modern dance, mostly influenced by Cunningham technique. Technique courses are also offered in Western classical dance, Indian dance, tap, ballroom, swing, and other styles, mostly as Physical Education (PE) courses and not necessarily every semester. The Dance Program also offers courses in Dance Improvisation, Dance Composition, Music Resources for Dance, Explorations in Movement, Analysis of Movement, Dance History, Topics in Dance Studies, and Dance Technology.
