What types of customers does Applied Biosystems serve? ?
AB serves three broad sets of customers: • basic research customers – generally researchers in universities and other non-profit laboratories who use AB’s products to make scientific discoveries; • commercial customers – pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and agricultural companies who use AB’s products to discover and develop new drugs; and • standardized testing customers – those who buy AB reagent-based products designed for specific, non-research applications such as forensic analysis and diagnostic testing.
