What types of courses are commonly done through e-learning?
E-learning, or Web-based, training courses work well for static content that will not change much, if any, over time and will be used by many participants at different times. The content typically teaches knowledge and comprehension. E-learning courses generally require more up-front development time and costs to develop can be much more than other types of courses. Synchronous learning courses or Instructor-Led Web based courses, work well when participants are unable to gather in a classroom together but still need live feedback from an instructor. If the learning requires application, analysis or synthesis type knowledge and skill where facilitated practice is required, such as sales skills, then e-learning is not recommended in these situations.
