What types of containers are eligible for the PPCR Program?
Only #2 HDPE plastic pesticide containers are accepted for recycling. These range in size from 2 oz. bottles to 2 gallon jugs, and include drums of 5, 15, 30 and 55 gallons. Drums must be cut in half, then quartered to facilitate inspection, storage and granulation. All eligible plastic containers are stamped on the bottom with the #2 HDPE recycling symbol. General household recyclable #2 plastic is not accepted in this program. • How do you participate in the PPCR Program? Applicators may contribute their clean plastic pesticide containers to any PPCR Partner recycling site during business hours only. Check with the site to obtain times before going. If your chemical dealer is not a PPCR Partner collection site, encourage them to be involved. • Can I recycle my containers even if Im not a customer of that location? Yes.
