What types of compensation is a producer allowed to receive?
Unless contrary to the agency-insurer agreement, a producer may receive a commission paid by the insurer, a fee paid by the insured, or a combination of commission paid by the insurer and a fee paid by the insured. Also, please keep in mind that a producer may ONLY receive a fee from an insured or in any other instance where it is specified in the policy; that is, included in the premium.
