What types of cats are hypoallergenic?
First off, I want to say that hypo allergenic does not mean that the item (or animal) will cause an allergic reaction. All it means it is less likely to do so. All cats and dogs produce dander, the difference been that those that are hypo allergic dog species and cat species produce less dander than others. First off, I really can’t recommend a certain type. All cats, even hairless, produce dander. There are claims that some breeds are better than others, but no widespread agreement. Now, according to WIkipidia sources, females produce less dander than males, with fixed males producing less dander than intact males. Also, cat color affects dander production with dark cats producing more allergy symptoms than light colored cats. But, there are ways to alleviate or control allergy symptoms. First, cat owners can become desensitized to their own cat over time. Second, washing the cat weekly, keeping the cat out of the bedroom, and vacuuming cleaning often will all help keep cat allergies
