What types of careers are there in health informatics?
Staff working in health informatics in the NHS are employed in four main groups. These are: • clinical informatics • information & communication technology (ICT) • information management • knowledge management Staff in each group share a core of knowledge and skills and will in addition, have a recognised specialist area of practice. Staff come into health informatics from a variety of backgrounds and can develop their careers through the Health Informatics Career Framework.
