What types of access control systems are most common?
• Managed systems, were a company such as ours is contracted to administer the system remotely. This frees up the customer’s human resources and insures that some on who is trained and qualified is taking care of matters. This includes changes to the database, adding and deleting users, system back up, running and providing usage reports, disaster recovery and attending to service notifications from the systems internal self test functions. • Self managed systems, where the customer has enough manpower to have a person dedicated to administering the system on a day to day basis. The database is physically located on the customers equipment and they are responsible for all aspects of management, including back up and disaster recovery.
