What Type Products Should be Considered for Black Oxide?
Generally speaking, any ferrous metal casting, stamping, and machined product can be Black Oxide treated. Typical products that are Black Oxide treated are bolts, nuts, screws, washers, tools, bushings, saw blades, lugs, brackets, Die plates and components, basic screw machine parts, and close-tolerance precision components. Also, there are certain electrical components that are Black Oxide treated, due to conductivity being unaltered. Black Oxide treatment aids in the wear-in of close tolerance moving parts, and is an excellent adhesive finish for products that are painted, minimizing peeling and chipping.
