What type of work requires an Encroachment Permit?
Most common activities requiring a permit include, but are not limited to: • Roadway construction – improvements, excavations and installations • Traffic Control • Temporary Street/Sidewalk/Trail Closures • Temporary placement of an obstruction/obstacle in the public way. • Short-term use of a public recreation trail • Commercial Filming • Haul Route – A haul route is a specific route used for import/export of fifty cubic yards or more of dirt or fill. This permit usually accompanies a Grading Permit that is issued by the Building Division. Demolition plans entailing export of demolition debris of fifty cubic yards or more require a permit for ingress/egress over public right-of-way and a haul route.
