What Type of Womens Exercise Clothing to put on when Exercise in Cold Weather?
My biggest concern will be hypothermia (i.e. excessive heat loss) and how much heat my body will lose during exercise. Besides my own body fat which insulates me against heat loss, exercise clothes add to the insulation barrier and is considered an important element in performance and comfort while exercising in the cold. They’re generally good insulators because they’ve the ability to trap air, which is a poor conductor of heat. If the air trapped by the clothing cannot conduct the heat away from my body, temperature will be maintained. Unlike air, however, water is a fast conductor of heat and even in the coldest of temperatures, I’ll sweat and risk significant heat loss. With this in mind, I’d choose workout apparel that can trap air but allow sweat to pass through, away from my body. I need to wear my clothing in layers as the extra layers help trap heat, and it’s easy to take off each layer if I become warm. I’ll avoid heavy cotton sweats or tightly woven material that’ll absorb a
