What type of wireless network is installed at Texas Tech University?

There are three wireless network protocol standards: 802.11a, b, and g. These protocols are also referred to as WiFi. TTUnet will support the 802.11b at this time, but does NOT currently support 802.11g. 802.11g was recently ratified by the IEEE consortium but was not available at the time of purchase. The wireless access points on TTUnet do have a migration path for adding 802.11g, so if the protocol becomes popular it may be added at a later date.
