There are several types of transactions that can cause overdrafts that may be paid by Courtesy Pay or Overdraft Protection: • ATM Withdrawals* • PIN-based Point of Sale (POS) transactions* • Pre-authorized debits (for example loan payments)* • Personal checks • ACH transactions (where you give a company the numbers from the bottom of your check and authorize them to use it to withdraw funds from your account) • Bill Pay transactions* Provident has two Courtesy Pay programs: one for ATM and one-time debit transactions, and one for recurring transactions, checks, and Bill Pay. Effective July 1, 2010 for new members and August 15, 2010, for existing members, Provident is not be able to authorize coverge for one-time debit card (groceries, gas, etc.) and ATM transactions that cause your account to be overdrawn, unless you opt-in.
