What type of training do Water Guards receive?
New Water Guards will receive two weeks of classroom training held at Ft McCoy from May 17 through May 27, 2010. This will be followed by field training with current Water Guard members. Costs of the training, including lodging and meals are paid by the department. All equipment, uniforms and supplies needed for the job will be provided. State vehicles will be assigned to the Water Guards if available.
