What type of texture will intrusive igneous rocks have?
Intrusive igneous rocks have a course-grained texture because the rock cools over a long period of time under the crust where the temperature is higher allowing the crystals to form larger.(Big crystals=course grained) An example of an intrusive rock is granite. Extrusive igneous rocks have a fine-grained texture because they cool rapidly on top of the crust due to the surrounding air.(Small crystals=fine-grained) An example of an extrusive rock is obsidian.
