The 304-grade stainless steel used in Shark Stainless products is non-magnetic with uncharacteristic strength produced through cold working the steel. Shark products are not heated and therefore are cold-worked to create harder steel. The 430-grade stainless steel has a 5% composition of nickel. Nickel is subject to slight rust but can be easily rubbed out. 430-grade is also magnetic due to its nickel content. Shark Stainless has chosen 304-grade to eliminate any possibility of red rusting appearance and to create a premium product.
