What type of spray paint can be used on plastic but still give a metallic finish?
Kyrlon is the only manufacturer currently making a paint that chemically bonds to plastic. Unfortunately, they only come in primary colors. That being said, there is a way around this. Use the Krylon as a base color because it will adhere to the plastic. Then come over that with a metallic paint (like Rustoleum, NOT Hammerite) to get your metal finish. Then seal the entire thing with a non-yellowing, UVB/UVA protecting polyurethane like Varathane to seal it and keep the metallic finish from peeling, flaking or fading. Use the outdoor formulation for both the Rustoleum and Varathane if your application is for outside.
