What type of security features does CommBridge provide?
CommBridge provides assured information exchange between systems. Many users have a requirement that data be secured during transit. To meet this need, CommBridge was enhanced in May 1998 to include data encryption as a default. CommBridge will provide for this via the use of MQSeries channel exits, which will encrypt the data when it is sent, and decrypt it when it is received. Encryption and decryption will be done using the Nortel EntrustFile/Toolkit API. On CommBridge-supported servers where the Entrust API is not available (currently MVS only), a separate server which does support the API will be securely attached to the target machine and will be used for any outbound encryption or inbound decryption. Data will only be encrypted while in transit. It will not be encrypted while resident in any queues or business application generated files. Security of data while in the business application or MQSeries queues will be handled through native operating system security capabilities. E
