The student may also be referred to a juvenile court for conduct indicating a need for supervision under Section 51.03(b)(2), Family Code. As penalties, the parent may face a $500 fine for each day the child is unlawfully absent from school. The child may face supervision terms and conditions under the Juvenile Court.
