The system is actually incredibly flexible. It is routinely used with a UV transilluminator for Ethidium bromide gels, but this may be dual wavelength enabling visualisation of Green Fluorescent Protein and many other fluorescent stains such as SYBR Gold, SYBR Green, SYPRO Ruby etc. There is an optional white light converter screen for visualisation of colorimetric protein gels, colony plates, autorads, flasks etc. A UV to blue light converter may also be used with the system. An Epi white light offers visualisation of membranes and other non-transmitting samples, although some of these will be better suited to our GeneGenius range. A filter drawer enabling rapid and simple change of the emission filter gives GeneFlash added flexibility.
