Obscene, personally insulting, offensive or libelous material. Get rich quick schemes, commercial adverts, and other “spam”. Tracts, sermons, “prophecies”, essays and other general religious material with no direct relevance to C.S. Lewis. Messages cross-posted to other usenet groups. Over-zealous attempts by Christian posters to “witness” to non-Christian members of the group General discussion of religious, literary or political subjects. This last rule is more honoured in the breach than the observance: many people have commented that alt.books.cs-lewis is one of the most interesting and friendly discussion sites on the net However, on the whole we like to keep discussion fairly focused on Lewis’s life and works; although threads can wander off the point, we take a dim view of people who start discussion threads on general issues with no specific Lewis connection. As with any group, lurk for a few days and you’ll get the hang of what is and isn’t acceptable.
