What type of math requirements are there for the Human Services/Generalist degree?
Students entering this field of study are required to take the C.O.D. English and Math Placement Tests before being accepted into the program. Students who do not successfully pass the Math Placement Test are asked to meet with Gerry Krusinksi, associate dean of the Math department. Students who did not pass the Math Placement Test, but have completed high school algebra and geometry with a “C” or better are required to take a “bridge” math course before re-taking the placement test. Students who did not pass the Math Placement Test and have not completed high school algebra or geometry will need remediation. Math department advisers will provide individualized instruction for students in this situation. What types of jobs are available for people with a Human Services/Generalist degree? Students who enter this field with a two-year degree can expect to earn a mean salary of between $27,000 to $30,000 per year.
