What type of material do you use for the tracks on the crossfader?
The first generation of analogue crossfaders that came out in DJ mixers used carbon-based compounds which were prone to wearing down and causing a bleeding of the sound in the wrong channel . The second generation of analogue crossfaders use a combination of carbon and a new type of Plastic-based conductive material which wears down a lot less and makes the crossfader last a lot longer, but the carbon elements will still wear away after time. The new 3rd Generation Pro-X-Fade is the first ever crossfader/potentiometer which uses 100% Plastic Conductive material which has a much, much longer life due to the missing carbon element.
