What type of licenses are available?
There are five types of licenses provided with PGI compilers. • Trial license, created by a user. • Temporary license, provide by PGI when permanent licenses have problems. • PGI style user-locked, node-locked license • FLEXnet style node-locked license • FLEXnet style floating license The Trial license acts much like the FLEXnet style license, except it also has a time limit. It also introduces a time limit in the executable. Unless codes compiled with a trial license are recompiled with a permanent or temp license, they will stop working. The Temporary license will work regardless of whether FLEXnet is running, and it does not introduce a time limit. All other licenses are permanent—they never stop working with the PGI release version for which they were created. They will work also with all earlier PGI release versions.
