What type of LCD monitor display is used?
The α700 uses an “Extra Fine LCD”. It is a 3-inch low-temperature polysilicon TFT color LCD Monitor that displays approximately 920,000 pixels. The LCD achieves 4 times the resolution and about 2.8 times higher contrast than conventional monitors. Also, a multilayer coating technology, “AR coating” enables the LCD to reduce reflections from outside light to produce clear and brilliant images, even when viewed under glaring sunlight. A wide viewing angle allows the LCD to be visible even from the side, allowing the photographer to comfortably view images or check the navigation display.
