What type of lawyer is highest paid on average?
Probably a corporate lawyer, patent lawyer, large real estate contract lawyer, or any type of intellectual property lawyer. Those areas are generally pretty well paid, except patent lawyers need to have an undergraduate degree in a science to even sit for the patent bar. So if you think you want to go that route, make sure you have a degree in biology, chemistry, physics, etc. It’s highly specialized because you have to understand lots of technical scientific language, and they’re always in high demand with high starting salaries, every time I check out the current listings for law positions. It kind of annoys me that I didn’t know that before I majored in what I majored in. I wish I could go back and get a degree in biology so I could get one of those high paying positions when I graduate law school.
