What type of information will be included in the National Sex Offender Registry database?
• Information such as addresses and telephone numbers, offences, alias(es) and identifying marks and tattoos of convicted sex offenders will be included in the national database. A regulation/the ability to include a photograph of the offender in the database will be available/ready shortly after implementation. • The National Sex Offender Registry database will be housed and maintained by the National Police Services Network (NPSN) under the stewardship of the RCMP. • The database will also include an expandable address field which will permit the recording of multiple addresses and change of addresses over time. • The capability of adding descriptive data such as alias, scars and tattoo information is also part of the National Sex Offender Registry database. Searches will also be available on marks, scars and tattoos. • These capabilities will not only permit for searches of the National Sex Offender Registry database by name or offender description but also on partial addresses, off
