What type of help can my students expect to receive from the Writing Center?

The Writing Center is a service provided by the University of Alabama to help students improve various aspects of their writing. Because of our commitment to serve students across all disciplines, the Writing Center can help with issues such as brainstorming, organization, grammar, and revising. Please note that the Writing Center does not proofread or edit student papers. I’m a faculty member interested in having my students utilize the Writing Center, but I don’t know many specifics about the services the Writing Center provides. Can someone from the Writing Center visit my classroom and provide information to my students? Absolutely! We’d love to visit your classroom, provide information, and answer any questions that students might have about the Writing Center. For more information on scheduling a classroom visit, contact the Writing Center Director, Dr. Luke Niiler, at lpniiler@ua.edu.
