What type of grants will likely be awarded in November 2008?
Despite recent stock market declines, the BACF anticipates awarding a total of about $15,000 of past investment earnings. The awards committee seeks to spread this money among many charities and therefore invites applications in the $500 to $1,000 range. It is unlikely the committee will make any grants above $1,000 though joint projects involving cooperation between two charities would be considered for up to $2,000. Such cooperation is always encouraged. The grants will be unrestricted. Recipients will be asked to report back on how the money was used. Charities with particularly good projects may be publicized in next year’s annual report and on the BACF website (hint: a photo might be helpful).
