What type of Government/type of democracy is Russia?!?

0

In theory, Russia is a federal semi-presidential republic. Federal means it has a strong, centralized federal government that can mint money, provide for national defense, set tariffs, etc. (much like the US). Semi-presidential means it has both a president and a prime minister, and the cabinet answers to the parliament (in US, the cabinet only answers to the president). Republic means it is a representative government, in which people vote for a representative rather than directly voting on laws/issues (just like in the US). In practice, it is a dictatorship. National elections are a sham. People who try to vote for opposing parties are intimidated and their votes are not counted.
