What type of government does Jamaica have?
Jamaica has a parliamentarian democratic system of government which is based on a representational and responsible government system. Jamaica also has a constitutional monarchy with the Queen of England being the Head of State, and the 1962 Constitution somewhat mirrors the British Westminster-Whitehall System of Government. Although, Jamaica is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, it is a unitary state. Free elections are held every 4 years when the citizens of Jamaica elect their own government, which is led by the Prime Minister.
