What type of gift is appropriate to give to a couple for an engagement party?
At my engagement party I was given items off my registry. If they haven’t registered I would give them a gift card or congratulations basket. Save the types of gifts you named for the wedding..that way they get the exact style they want off their registry, unless you know of a certain item they have had their eye on.
Personally, I wouldn’t get them a gift because a wedding gift will be given as well as a shower gift. If, however, you can afford this extra expenditure, I would consider the following: gift certificate from any major department store, personalized picture frames or photo albums, personalized champaign glasses.
