What type of future goals/ preventative measures are DPW taking to prepare for future water problems?
The City does have such a fund for the water utility. The Council recently approved the replacement of the water main on Main St. north of Elmwood. The project will cost nearly a half million dollars and ill reduce the replacement fund to nearly zero. With the planned replacement of more water lines in the bond project the City hopes our replacement fund, as it builds through future revenues, will prove adequate for future needs without the need for a significant increase in water rates.
