What type of fossils do dinosaurs have?
Dinosaurs are best known from fossilised skeletons, these are what you will see (or plaster cast versions) in the big museums like the Natural History Museum in London http://www.nhm.ac.uk Of course most fossils are just odd bits of bone, if you are lucky several bits of bone together, but there are a few places where the bones of lots and lots of similar dinosaurs have been found, and a few very rare cases whre almost complete skeletons have been found too. Teeth preserve pretty well, so they turn up pretty frequently. In a very few cases we have found fossilised bits of skin, or impressions of skin so we know a little about what dinosaur skins are like, and in one or two cases we have been able to use CT scans to identify some of the internal organs of a well preserved fossil.
