What type of forensic science?

If you decide to do a BSC (hons) degree in forensic science you will need to consider the area of pathology and you will need to cover serology, pathology and DNA analysis, however another option (and my advice a better option) would be to study a degree related to the field you are most interested in such as chemistry or physics, and then follow this up with a MSc in forensic science (i can recommend Kings) this means that you will have an in depth knowledge of a science field that you can fall back on (the competition in the forensic field is extremely high), but also you can then avoid the pathology area. You are going to have to face facts that is you want to be a materials expert (fibres etc) you are going to have to deal with cadavers as in not all instances will a SOCO be qualified to collect the evidence for you. PS working as a forensic scientist bears no resemblance to what you see on TV!!!!!
