What type of food do the baby whales eat?
Answer Hi Jarrod, Baby Whales are nocturnal and like to hide out during the day. PVC pipes or a similar cave-like structure are appreciated by the fish as a hiding place. A sandy substrate with rocks and wood are helpful. Baby Whales need a supply of live and frozen foods. Earthworms are a favorite. Sinking foods are appreciated as well. Baby Whales need a very efficient filtration system in order to keep the water clean enough for them to thrive. Do weekly water 25% water changes to keep your water safe and clean! A pH value between 6.5-7.5 and a temperature between 73-80 degrees F will suffice. Live or fake plants will work. I always recommend live plants though as they help improve the water quality and just look better. Tankmates for a Baby Whale can be tricky. I would only recommend various semi aggressive Loaches, Synodontish species, and Gouramis. Since your Baby Whale can grow anywhere between 6-8 inches long I wouldn’t recommend sticking too many fish in a mere 20 gallon tank
