What type of fire barrier does Restonic-Escanaba use?
Restonic-Escanaba’s fire barrier is an all-natural, antimicrobial, non-synthetic product that offers chemical free protection. It is nontoxic and odor free. The entire mattress is quilted with this Milliken fiber: Visil® FR fiber is a modified viscose fiber whose constituents are cellulose and silica. Due to the silica content, the fire-retardant properties are built into the product from the start. Although viscose (rayon) on its own burns, the non-flammable silica in Visil acts as a barrier to the emission of heat and smoke during combustion.
