What type of extractor fan timed or not?

Since you are getting an electrician in to do the job, do get a timed switch. May I suggest that you do not hook the fan up to go on at the same time as the main overhead light in the bathroom. If you do, you cannot operate the fan unless the light is on at the same time so you waste electricity. Also make sure you have an unswitched receptacle in the bathroom so you can plug in a night light or a Glade freshener independent of a light switch. The light switch in my bathroom controls the fan, the light, and receptacle so I cannot use any of these independently and it sucks. No night light because I would have to turn on the light switch to send power to the receptacle. Sigh.
