What type of evergreen tree or bush is the fastest growing to use for privacy?
There is a company here in the SF Bay Area that installs Bamboo privacy screens – and somehow they manage to keep in where they plant it (not spreading out all over the place). It is green year round and is one of the fastest growing – if not the fastest growing – plant in the world. We moved into a house that had a bank of bamboo – and I vowed to pull it out. Instead, I trimmed it back – and kept it trimmed – and I grew to love it. It kept the side yard of the neighbors blocked and kept our backyard private. It is a sustainable plant – you can harvest the wood for flooring, counter tops, cutting boards – I even have a bowl of bamboo! Have fun with whatever you do.
