What type of equipment should be used for wedding portraits, etc?

At the very minimum it should be a Film SLR or Digital SLR with a 8MP minimum resolution. A f/2.8 lens is the most common lens professionals use, since some church’s do NOT allow flash photography during the ceremony. NEVER should a Film or Digital Point-N-Shoot be used. They are good for general everyday use, but not for capturing special moments, fast movements, or low light.
